Ok, I'm gonna say this to ruin the fun.

Watching the ad, it's kinda cool.
However....the SIDI's are only on the 6-cylinder VE's, not the V8's, which that car is, quite clearly (the SS V-Series).
And the SS couldn't do 900 on a tank, that was done in the Omega.

Pretty sure I'm right in saying that.

Yeah when I first saw it, I thought, those aren't SS-V wheels. But the tail lights are def SS-V. Not sure if they are an option, I've definitely seen them aftermarket on SV6's.
Either way, that model was not the one with the claimed 900km on a tank. It was the 3.0L SIDI V6, whereas the SV6 has the 3.6L SIDI V6, so mini-stuff up there from our good friends at Port Melbourne
