Watch this youtube video...and then make up your mind as to whether orange juice is dangerous... =P
YouTube - Orange Juice Explosion
Here in SA, we have our plastic bottle recycling incentive of 10c per bottle, and over time bottles inevitably build up.
My younger brother started clearing out all our old bottles (for pocket money during school holidays) and found a discarded orange juice bottle, still with about 100ml of 12month old orange juice in it.
For some reason it must ferment in the bottle over time, building up gasses and a standard 500ml nippy's orange juice bottle can become the circumference of a 1.25L bottle...
well anyway all you have to do is throw it on the ground and enjoy.

Fermenting any fruit creates pressure from the excess carbon dioxide produced. It's not dangerous, except to your garage when all that mulberry wine pops it's corks and repaints your walls purple![]()

similar to what happened to us. we keep all our empty (not in this case) bottles in rubbish bags in the carshed. and from time to time we find one of the bags blown apart. we always thought it was the cat trying to find out whats inside haha. obviously not.
But yes, interesting smell to say the least...
