    Default Gilmer kit

Howdy was wondering what a Gilmer Kit is and what it actually does, would it be a good investment on a burnout car?
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, now that's what gets you...

looks like this. its a poor mans blower (it sounds like it has one).
has no performance potential whatever but can aid as in it has no
    belt slippage at higher rpm's

In most cases they are nothing but wank factor. They sound like you have a blower, thats really about it.

For a burnout car you will probably get some legitimate use from a gilmer kit, however if your car mainly drives the streets doing single pegger skids, you dont need one.

Well once the rego runs out on it in month and a bit it wont be driven on the street at all although its not been driven on the street since i brought it late november anyway so yeh, It will be on and off a tow truck or trailer then doing 20km while rear wheels are sitting at 120km

i had one on the injected 5.0 litre i had in my Nissan Patrol..... i ran a VB Commodore fan to suck plenty of air through the radiator and the vee belt squealed it's @$$ off under high revs, which i used frequently
Put a gilmer drive on... sounded good, and did it's job

    definately not for wank factor

    • HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.

    • TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.
