Hey guys my old man is italian, and so are his parents (they were born there n moved here at age 25)... my old man was born in Sydney though
im trying to get Dual Citizenship to Italy.. but im unsure of how to do it / who to talk to...
i found this site that taks about it but i cant make sense of it really
Italian Citizenship - Italian Dual Citizenship
can anybody point me in the right direction or shed some light on this?...
thanks heaps
You can only get dual citizenship if your dads parents where still European Citizens when he was born, which entitles him to it and entitles you. Thats how i managed to get my dual citizenship and as an Italian you get a European passport which is Efing sweet!
u know what i mean..
I would talk to DFAT and the Italian embassy, between the two of them you should be able to sort it out.

Call up the Italian Consulate, they'll be able to answer any questions you have. Really should organise mine at some stage too.
hey guys... if i was born in australia does that mean i automatically renounced my italian citizenship?.. i been researching for ages with no avail?...
it states that as long as your Grandfather was an Italian citizen at the time of your Father's birth and neither you, your Father or Grandfather have renounced citizenship, then you may be eligible..
i asked my old man and he said he hasnt to his knowledge... and im yet to talk to my grandfather about it... but yeh does it mean i automatically renounced it?.. cause some countrys do that.. just not sure if oz is 1 of em
I got european citizenship even tho i was born here.
was ure mum or dad born here too?
