In my opinion there pointless, unless you go to illegal drags etc. If its just for cruising an you wanna really know were the cops are get a radar detector. Illegal in all states but WA though, so be careful.

Used to have one, got it taken off me and lost 2 points. SHould have seen it coming considering it was a dinosaur of a unit. Theres some pretty awesome units around now but, undetectable ones the link i gave you. I dont speed enough to find reason to buy one anymore but have herd alot of great things about them.

They do state they are 'completely undetectable' and will never be detected because of there revolutionary design, but how many years have these units been out and how many test would have been conducted on em. Only a matter of time.

so what if ya got a radar detector detector detector, that way you detect them with your detector before they detect you with their detector and you can turn it off, all unless they have a detector detector detector detector lol

Unfortunatly if you are in Melbourne you won't be able to listen to the police because all their voice transmissions are scrambled. However, you can still listen to the ambulance and fire brigade etc.

My mate got one, because hes in the cfa and VERY into it. But yeah he got one so he can have it on when hes goign to the station for a call out so he has an idea of whats happening. But he leaves it on just cruising around, its good fun to listen to i reckon! Interesting as!

Ambos are now on the same digital network as the police. Their networks are encrypted.
