hey guys, does anyone on here use virtual dj?
im kinda getting a bit sick of its lack of effect options, and was wondering if anyone on here knows about a more sophisticated downloadable program?
any help would be great![]()
Are you looking at commercial use or just home and the odd party or two use ?
I've used Virtual DJ before but went back to PCDJ Dex, takes a while to get your recordcase downloaded the first time round if you have a lot of files but using that has worked well for me at some lower price range gigs I've done
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?
PC or Mac?
on Mac There is Logic, Very professional Audio editing & maker etc, Or Reason is also another. It has virtual sound board with cables also witch is a nice touch. There the Big 2 i know of.
i'm also interested in a decent program for pc
working with pc, atm just low key stuff, slowly getting better and better, but im ready to move on to a better program.
cheers
What are some good DJ programs for PC? I want to make some MP3 mixes and need something decent.
Just download some more effects if you want more.
Which version are you running?
I've got heaps for a slightly older version I can email you if you want, havn't used virtual dj since i got my technics early last year =)
as for mixing mp3s (last post or 2nd last post) I'd advise ableton live, depends what you are aiming for production wise, but strongly recommend not using mp3s...
I love virtual dj lol..but yeah, it is pretty limited to what you can do. So much harder than real life aswell, wish i had two mouse' lol
Guys have a look at Deckadance... it's pretty good.. I've done a few really good mixes with that and a midi controller. I recently had to upgrade to Windows 7 for work purposes and now my controller doesn't work and the software crashes... I'm just waiting till I have enuff $$$ for a couple of CDJ1000's and a DJM800![]()
I don't know too much about the computer DJ side of things, you'd be good to get a set of CDJ's, whether they be 100's or 1000's.. Theres always the option of using turntables with a program like Serato, but that can be a bit pricey.
There is a fair few effects, skins, patches, etc... on the website if you have a registered version of the software. The software although basic is quiet good and if you know what you are doing can produce some great results.
That said, you can't go too wrong with a few CDJ's and a Mixer, and given to cost of most music mixing / production software it could even be more cost effective to go the CDJ route (its more fun too).
