Default Just finished my first solo Skydive, anyone else done solo?

I'm just wondering what kind of experiences did you guys have, before this I have never jumped out of a plane whether it be static or tandem.

    Absolutely hooked on it.

done around 20 solo's before that did 48 static line in the defence force. Everyone says how much of a rush skydiving is, has nothing on combat training static line.

What are you waiting for man ..... you wait .... it will be one of the most exhilirating things you will ever do!!

I've gone tandem, with a freefall for 1 minute .... and it was awsome ... a great rush that will leave you smiling for the rest of the day.

Not much really ... my tandem dive was with an ex girlfriend on her birthday, she loved it and signed up to do a solo jump .... they teach you some essential techniques and how to read your altitude metre ... take you up and out you jump. Not for the faint hearted though....

I did my first tandem skydive in November.
    14,000 ft

absolutely awesome! If it didn't cost so much I'd do it again.
    Definitely a big rush

    Soft Paul.

I'll do it eventually, Wasn't aware you could do solo first up, thought you had to do a tandem dive before they let you, so might do a solo first up.

when i did mine i think it was a little over $300 and that was at 14,000 feet which is a minute freefall

Look into it, it's known as AFF (Accelerated Free Fall), basically 9 jumps to become qualified to jump out yourself, the first three two instructors will jump out with you, 3-6 jumps you have one instructor and for the last 3 you jump completely solo. The instructors are only there with you to begin with for safety reasons. Will set me back around $2700 to become fully licensed.

For the other one who asked, basically you have to do a full day course, teaches you how to deploy your chute, deal with any malfunctions and the proper body position when falling.

The course is VERY repetitive though, as you'd expect.
