Crown to Calder park...?

gday guys,
Im heading over in Feb with the mrs to see a mate race at calder.
My question is how far from crown is it to calder park in a taxi and roughly how much?
The main reason i want to stay there is they have looked after us fairly well in the past and dont want to be staying at some dingy 3 star hotel on the side of the hwy.

Its about 30-35kms, and probably be a $60-70 cab ride? What day/time... during peak hour it will be even worse...

Could always catch the train... no where near as nice but a bit cheaper?

I couldnt tell you a good place to stay around there sorry.
Going to be an expensive trip with staying at Crown and doing the Taxi thing.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to $100. It's a fair hike.

On Good Friday last year (Trance Energy) it cost us $57bux from Calder to Southern Cross Station (Down the road from Crown), getting there is no worries however getting a cab home might be a different story.
