    Default DJ/Club Speakers

Not sure if Pub is where this is meant to go (didn't think it was car audio). Although It's Sound stuff.

Can anyone tell me the difference to DJ Speakers compared to Car Speakers?

The Yamaha S215V Club Series speakers I own are rated for 500/1000/2000 - Noise/Program/Peak ( 15" cone x 2, Horn + 2" voice coil driver). and the JBL MRX 518 is rated the same. How can they only put out 500 Noise? at 4ohm.

The Yamaha are Club Series speakers and they are only rated for 500? I've got a 12" car sub in the car (much smaller space) pushing 2000+ RMS?

    Can anyone explain this?

PA speakers are more efficient and are more accurately measured in terms of RMS so for example a 2000w live band PA set-up is going to be able to crank out a lot cleaner sound over a larger radius than a 2000w car audio set-up
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?

I shoulda gone for Powered Speakers.. woulda made life a lot easier.

Especially because I have no experience with crossovers/equalisers etc.

JBL PRX535 seem pretty nice, Powered speakers, Crown Amp.

Pretty hard to compare as both have different sensitivity levels, etc as well

Powered speakers are pretty good but are still yet to match the levels of good old fashioned properly made wooden cabinets IMO
