    Default total enumeration package

    Hi all

I went for a gov job today (QLD) and the salary was a total enumeration of 70K + 12% super.

What does that work out to in salary, I mean what you get paid.
There is no car or fuel car or anything like that so I am not sure what is included in the enumeration.

Anyone from gov or used to be in gov familiar with this?

    Cheers

    Dan

    enumeration is a numbered list.
remuneration is your salary a year.

70,000 a year before tax (1346.15 a week, before tax). 12% of 70,000 (8,400) will be payed in weekly installments (161.53 a week) into your nominated super fund in addition to the 70,000 base rate.

    I think anyway.

You get a base salary of $70k before tax.

For 09-10 financial year, income tax payable is $14850 + $1050 for the medicare levy.

Assuming you have private health and no HECS debt, then you will get $54,100 after tax a year.

    Thats $4508 a month or $1040.40 a week clear.

Assuming you do have a HECS debt and no private health then:
    - $4900 will be deducted for HECS (7% of taxable income), and
    - $700 will be deducted for the medicare levy surcharge (1% of taxable income).

That reduces your take home pay to $48,500 a year, or $4042 a month, or $933 a week.

Mate there would be lots of people out there that would like to get $50k in the hand , plus 12% super I think the standard non-Government is only 9%. I've been employed by the Fed Government for 6 years and get around $80k and 15%super and I'm very happy with that. ( 7 weeks leave a year helps also)
