nice one!!
nah cant be! keep searching![]()
yeah that'l do it LOL happens quite a bit
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
lol, a mate had that happen in his VN, (shift kitted auto) his I'm fairly confident to say was from the harsher shifts, and the thrashing it copped through out its life.
But if your's is a standard box, might just be metal fatigue..?
Or do you do many neutral-drives... lmao,
had a vr in not long ago with the same problem. the bell housing had a crack in it as well. the previous owner said the rattle came into it about a fortnight after the box tranny was installed, so i think they had trouble getting the tranny in and caused the crack in the bell housing and the crack in the flex plate.
heres my ride, i know its not much but its mine

I no this is an old post, but what can cause this?
2nd one in 2 months, i will get some pics tomorrow, although they will look the same but without blue paint,
but the exact same thing has happened with a different torque converter in the same car.
and this time i know everything lined up going together
really annoying!!!
I had one go in my car. Stock sludgeomatic (no shift kit)
Can't tell you what causes it, but i solved the problem by converting to manual. Never had an issue again![]()

But if thats outta the question, maybe its just a coincidence that the second one failed as well?
No more shift kit/stally? No neutral - drives? lol,
Maybe just metal fatigue? from all the vibrations that the motor puts off over the years...
Is there a fair bit of vibrations coming off the motor when it idles/free revs?
Crank might be moving a little and it catching the flex plate on the back of the block?
Just stabbing in the dark here?
Try find an Auto gearbox shop, and get them to order you in a new one, or if you can get a heavy duty on for not much more, try that?
Sorry couldn't be more helpful, once my mate changed gearboxs in his for a stock one, and put a secondhand flex plate in the problem wasn't heard from again...
Nothing wrong with that at all mate!![]()
Gee god that would have interesting if it had let go completely and I havn't seen that happen for a while
