I understand that in the VZ, the sedan SV6 is equipped with the 190 alloytec to compensate for the extra wieght of a sedan. But, is it enough to beat the power to weight ratio of the 175 S ute?
I'd love to know because I'm curious as to why the VZ S ute was not equipped with the beefier engine.
towards the end of the vz range they introduced the sv6 ute with the ho 190kw motor and 5spd auto, so as to why they didn't do this in the beginning i've got no idea...
Chev badges are an instant fail
They are pretty much the same weight anyway

I'm having a look on Drive.com and when you value your car, it gives details as follows.
VZ S ute 2005's kerb weight is 1540kg. Power to weight 8.80:1 (kg/kw)
VZ SV6 sedan 2005's kerb weight is 1592kg. Power to weight 8.38:1 (kg/kw)
Power to weight ratio in the Sedan is better than the ute, but only by a bit. I must admit, I'd love to have the 190kw alloytec in my car, but I'm completely happy with what I've got.
