Well this looks very promising, especially for someone like me in the steel industry.
Promising in the short term yes, but look where our resources are going. I wouldn't like to see Australia putting all of it's eggs into one basket. Would you buy shares in one company and hope all goes well in the long term? What if China exploits Australias need for a large trading partner by creating a monopoly?

In this case you cannot separate the two. By the Premier of QLD backing the project and it being something that directly flies in the face of the federal government's environmental initiative, it's highly political. I do agree this whole thread should be merged into the political thread however that's more your call than mine

Ps. I'll never forget the engineering manager of Stanwell power station when I was there asking about erosion shields that are used in most other power station boilers - "we burn coal here not rocks!". I think he was somewhat insulted by the question.
Make no mistake, this is a result of Palmer stitching up the deal.
Bligh cannot take credit for it, although they are probably rubbing their hands together at all the royalties they will receive.
Anyway, can only be a good thing for QLD.
