topgear channel 9 ... channel nine is wrecking topgear

topgear is my fav show .... yeah when it was on sbs they still cut bits of it out but not heaps .. when sbs put the first show of a new season on thats when they started playing all the new shows... but now channel nine has it the played a 2hour segment last tuesday(16/2/2010) but now they arnt playing it for another two weeks . soz bout complaning but it pisses me off

just watch it on the net..commercial tv screws everything up. I dont watch anything on Tv now. And I wouldnt watch something as gold as Top Gear on Commercial TV because it will just ruin it for me, like sooo many other half-decent programs, of which there are very few.

I wonder how long before they either put it on at 11pm or axe it mid season. Channel nine has made a mess of the winter Olympics too. But i guess i shouldn't be surprised.

Actually, the first episode they showed was Series 14 Episode 1, which hadn't been shown in Australia before, only way you would have seen it would be either online, or if you were in England at the time it was on. However, the one they showed after that (Winter Olympics) is at least 4 years old.

Anyway, it confirmed everything I'd feared about Channel 9 getting Top Gear, chopping bits out and putting in ads. Not to mention that here in the Wide Bay, it kept on cutting out, both on digital and analog. Personally I'll just stick to Channel BT, I've already seen all of Series 14 anyway, full length episodes, with no ads, fast tracked straight to my house.

What channel 9 showed was a prelude of sorts to the new season. Probably an attempt to build up some excitement for the new season which starts in 2 weeks. Their reasoning behind their choice of episodes I believe was because one hadn't been shown here before and the winter olympics episode is relative to what is happening now.

I'll withhold judgement on their airing of Top Gear until the new season actually starts. If they make a mess of it, I'll just watch online.

But the winter one with the rocket boosted mini down the ramp was an oldy.

And not surprised with Ch9's efforts... the amount of cash they had to offer to 'steal it' from the old network, of course they are going to fill it with ads!

God bless hard drive recorders with time lapse... start watching half way through, skip the ads and get back 1 hour of your life .

They wont be showing the "NEW" season. They will be showing season 14. Which is new for people who dont know what a torrent is.

But yeah Ive already seen that Bana episode and yes they cut some bits out. My greatest fear is for Top Gear Australia (not that I really give to tosses). They will call the shots on that and edit it and turn it into a greater hole of unwatchability.

I saw tonights episode on sbs AGES ago!? or at least the bit where they went to america...

Chan 9 did the same with that show Wipeout, advertised as 'all new episodes' which I had seen twice before on GO!?

And um. I think we have the right to have a whinge... why should I spend 100-200+ dollars on a box set of ONE show? Its clearly already gotten to the stage where if you dont have cable you have to deal with repeats and cancelations and crappy shows. Unfortunatly, its the same thing with cable anyway!?

Who cares? Seriously. We all know it was going to be edited, just like it was on SBS. Why would it be anything but season 14? There are no later episodes than those, so why would we get them before the UK?
The episodes on 9 are to introduce more people to it, and for those that dont know what a torrent is. They wont know whats been cut out and wont care. They will still love it and wont care that the second episode is a few years old. Theyre not going to whinge about it, because its just more Top Gear for them to enjoy.
As for the whole not watching on 9. Good for you. I still have it on to rewatch it and its still just as entertaining. A major channel is finally starting to show interest in car shows, instead of criticizing them, and noone is bothering to show them a positive attitude about it all.

so buy the box set? there will be no adds, and you can decide whether you wanna watch repeats or not.

its not a big deal really. heck you could probably rent the seasons out if you wanted too.
