i reckon its a good thing, and being in the road transport business i agree that there are some trucks around that are too noisy.
i wonder what the distance is between where they measure the sound and the actual vehicle making the sound, that has an effect on what reading you would get, and (i'm not sure but i think it might) the wind direction and strength too.
80db, i think my bike would be louder than that, and that is standard and how it passed the adr's, so it could be interesting.
probably get everyone just throwing it in neutral or clutching it so engines sit at idle speed past the cameras though.
I wonder, if something else made a loud enough noise near the camera, it would set it off and anyone unfortunate enough to be driving by at the time would be done for it?
I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Jake brakes make a great sound. They should make it target ricers with cannons.

^^^ +1 for that but it won't work until cyclists are made to pay rego like everyone else.

what a load of crock, these won't last long
new vehicles have a signature noise level. it's tested as new and you're allowed to make 5dB extra.
