So he isnt staying with any of his friends? I guess it will depend on the circumstances with him being gone... missing or ran away? Try the shelters, local youth centers etc, I know in Geelong years ago there was B.A.Y.S.A and the likes, places like that, Salvation army etc where you can go for a bed, financial assistance or meal etc.

I've sent his pictures and your post to my son. He lives in Altona Meadows, just up the road. He's into BMX bikes and hangs at skate parks and knows a lot of local kids. I rang him first and he'll be checking his email in about 10 minutes.

Hunting him down will push him further underground and his support will close in. He knows you are looking for him and will call on his mates to protect him.

I can assume he has run away as he is unhappy with how things are at home? I don't want to drag your personal stuff in the public arena, but maybe try a different approach.

Is there a friend of his you can talk to who can pass on a message to mediate, maybe see if you can meet him at a neutral place, or initiate a phone call, even if for now to establish he is ok and work on it from there.

Without knowing what is really going on though, it is hard for me to offer solutions.

I understand. As a parent I feel your helplessness - that sick feeling when you are angry and worried at the same time.

He will come home eventually I am sure.

I have to ask, why do you have SAS mates in melbourne? Surely they would be better suited to being on their base in anothe rpart of the country?

I think I know what you're trying to say but just let it happen. I go out of my way to help people I don't know quite often. It's what I think communities should do. Give your thanks by all means but just accept that people want to help if they can, it's how we got to where we are as a species, we empathise with you, well I know I do. Not that I've really gone out of my way as others have suggested they will, I'm a bit far away so I'm doing my bit by proxy as my son lives down there. He's a good lad and doesn't mind helping others either. I will ring him again tomorrow night to see if he's heard anything. If he has but doesn't know where he is I'll ask if he can get a message to Jacob to ring you at least. Owen rides bikes(BMX) over at Hoppers Crossing quite often so ya never know.

I just really hope, having three sons of my own, that it all comes up heads for you all as finding him will only be the start of the solution.
