A red convertible Ferrari worth about $600,000 has been stolen from a Perth home, West Australian police say.
The 2008 model Ferrari was stolen from a house in South Perth about 1pm (WST), police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said on Monday.
"It was last seen at around 2.40pm (WST) this afternoon in the Mt Pleasant and Applecross area," she said.
The registration plate of the car reads GB58WA
Why does this get special attention and news coverage? No different to other cars being stolen really.

If they reported on every stolen car around the country, they would have to have a seperate publication given the amount of cars stolen. Then constant updates when the owner actually found the car 3 parking rows over!!!!

Not really, there aren't many nice ferrari's about.
I just don't think that 1 ferrari loss is any more devastating than some bogan losing his prize vb. (also not news worthy)

You couldn't drive it anywhere. It's not a change the number plate job. How many Ferrari's do you see driving around Perth........ pull up at the lights with a bogan driving a Ferrari.... something seems odd in this picture...

I think it is just the dollar amount that makes it newsworthy ie. "600 vn's were stolen this afternoon from a perth home with a value of approximately $600,000, police said"
