Has to be certified by an authority, in QLD it will get a mod plate when this is done, not sure about other states.

Major modifications usually have to be certified, such as engine transplants, transmission modifications, and most safety devices, seats included. If you do not have it certified, the car will be defected, and you will be penalised according to the guidelines of your state.

Not if its a factory part from that model. So get a hold of all the right gear for the swap out of the same model and its all legal.

Mod plate is only if you put different types in. eg custom cross members etc etc

so your saying i can change transmissions if its from the same model and year?
