Default Such demonic driving, the horror, the horror!!! NT's 130km/h ex (//) Stuart Highway.

    NT transport minister caught speeding

    06:30 AEST Mon Apr 12 2010 - MSN
Northern Territory's Transport Minister Gerry McCarthy has been caught speeding on a local highway at 149km/h.

Mr McCarthy was driving his 4WD along the Stuart Highway between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs when he was clocked doing 19km/h hour more than the 130km/h speed limit, the NT News reports.

Police pulled Mr McCarthy over and issued him with an on-the-spot $200 fine and he lost three licence demerit points.

Mr McCarthy, who is also the state's planning minister, was forced to make a public apology for the offence.

"What happened yesterday should serve as a reminder to all motorists to be vigilant at all times and watch their speed carefully," Mr McCarthy said.

Mr McCarthy was on his way to a 3pm meeting on Saturday in Alice Springs when he was pulled over.

According to the NT News, the minister did not appear to be running late as he was stopped by police just 70km away from the town with an hour to spare.
HISTORY; Until January 1, 2007 NT applied speed derestriction signs (//) to its main highways, and as an over rural default. NT ALP in an act of social engineering with associated political correctness then imposed a rural default of 110km/h, and its main highways then carried, and still do, a signposted 130km/h speed-limit.

    Such terror. Love the irony:-))))

McCarthy - Return (//) to your main highways and let police focus instead on dangerous driving.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.
