I had a leatherman wave but i lost it and now i want get a new one.
The model i had was this one Leatherman Fuse. It never let me down but it always seemed a bit pov/entry level.
Was just wondering if anyone had another leatherman model they've had and would recommend.
i basically want it for a bit of fishing (dehooking but probably not not gutting/cleaning), a bit of computer/electronics, and something that could come in handy in the glovebox.
was looking at this one
Leatherman Wave
but someone told me that leathermans in general are prone to rust
Mate I can get you a catalogue and sort one out for well under retail for you, we stock a lot of leatherman models at my work. PM if keen.

Personally I would get a gerber. Very easy and quick to open one handed.

me and most my mates have either a leatherman or a gerber and they are all prettymuch the same. I have a Wave same with another mate we got them from different shops and the wire cutters on both ours struggle other then that they are a great knife and i have no problems with them. another mate has a kick his only dislike of it is that the blades dont lock out. the charges are really good to use and i havent heard of any problems with them from my mates. they get thrown around a bit and dropped used in the rain ect and never had a problem with rust or anything like that.
I got one in ma car always. Picked it up free![]()
Have got three of the suckers and couldn't live without them. My current used one is a Surge. Others are a PSTII and Pulse.
The PST went all loose in the handles and the Pulse snapped off a screwdriver bit. Posted back to their service agent in NSW and was all fixed up in a couple of weeks and working like new. The 25year warranty is probably the best part about them
I just bought the gerber I posted before. My uncle had one he found in a national park. He used for years and eventually managed to break it. $6 postage to send it back to gerber and they sent him a shiny new one. No questions asked. You can't complain about a warranty like that.
