Saw this on Car Sales yesteday which caught my attention for obvious reasons. Now I know a good original
327 Monaro can fetch a hefty price tag, but $300k for a modified one??
What do you reckon?
1969 HOLDEN MONARO GTS HK Private Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au
nice car but no way would i ever pay that much for it
i guess it depends on how much you wanted it...
it looks great, id love to have it.. but i only got division 6 in last nights powerball.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Value is always perceived, if you think it is worth that much to you, then it is, but threads like this are always the same, find an expensive car and say it isn't worth it because you can never afford it.
I would never pay $15 for a packet of cigarettes because I don't think they are worth it, but many of you do.
Not worth it for me. It is, after all, just a holden.

lol, no frikken way. i mean, yeah i would buy it in a heartbeat for 300k if i had 300k to throw away. but that car is no original, so no way he will get a buyer.
rebuilt engine=fail,
odometer been wound back=fail
non standard wheels=fail
and someone put a GODAWEFUL bonnet scoop on it!!!
anything non standard detracts from its value.
having said that i once watched a HK monaro shell go through ebay for 18 grand. this was a rused out shell, no panels, no trims, no engine trans. and was just rust.
Ha- If I had $300 000 I'd be driving a ferrari and I'd still have money left over.
Personally I'd rather spend the $20-$40k for a 67 Chevy Impala
yeah the thing is that the monaro will only hold its value from here. modern cars will depreciate like a mofo. that is, of course if you dont drive it and park it in a garage/barn where there is no moisture, and you dust it and start it up weekly.
in fact, to hold its value its quite a lot of work, so i am gonna buy an impala instead.... oh thats right, i already have one![]()
Maybe 30 grand, I say thats about what it be worth, definately not 300, bunch of dreamers, cheers Bob.
That was $370000 in June last year. I remember seeing it when I was looking for a new car.
Not worth it gaurds have been flared = Fail.

No, it's not worth $300,000, even in it's original state it's probably a $100,000 car however even in that state it's probably still a $60,000 car....Apart from the flares, everything else can be turned back to original pretty easily. IF i had $100,000 to spend on a car, i would buy a HK GTS 350 in a heartbeat, no new car would even cross my mind.....
And your car is, after all, just a Subaru....But, that doesn't stop you raving on like it's the best thing since sliced bread.
definitly not what id spend 300 grand on but if he wants to try selling it for that much good luck to him i say

Hmmm, crappy old car that would get raped by any half-decent new car or a house? Hmmmmm..........

That's been on there for years, I don't expect to sell any time soon...
signature was inappropriate and has been removed.
for 300k you would be expecting low klms with log books and genuine history, no need for a rebuild, also, shaving the deck can often lead to needing to restamp the engine number which is a giveaway to high Klms, so each extra mile brings the price down rebuit engine=high klms=fail.
all round its fail, but to whoever posted a link to a crappy commodore and a performance kit, yes itll be a lot cheaper than a HK monaro, but after 1 year itll just be one more shit commodore struggling to stay road worthy.
