okay so i had no idea really where to post this, mods, if you can think of a better place to ask this than i could, by all means move the post.
my mate gave me a mobile phone antenna, the type similar to the small antennas you see mounted on the boots of unmarked police cars. I like it, because it means my phone wont drop out of reception when i go to visit mum at lithgow anymore (hopefully).
anyways, i realised i couldnt mount it around the boot, because the way my stock spoiler comes up (on my 94 prelude) when the boot lid opens, and there wasnt much flat metal to bolt the plate onto, i decided to mount it on the front, on one of the bolts holding the drivers side front quarter panel. the one closest to the a-pillar. SO NOW, after fitting it and installing it, I am curious to know if my car is still roadworthy? or are there rules for cb/radio/mobile phone antennas.
for illustration purposes, it uses something like this at the base of the antenna to mount it (the antenna its self is about 1 meter long)

thankyou in advance
You should be fine with it mounted wherever you mount it. As long as it doesn't really obstruct your view it should be OK.
As long as it doesn't make your car unsafe in any way or obstruct your view like skerik said, you should be right...think about how many cars you see getting around with CB antennas, none of which I'm guessing get defected because of the antenna. Its not like you've drilled into the car or done something else that actually affects the safety of the vehicle.
okay cool, thankyou. now i just need to remove this bloody fartpipe muffler thats falling off
