'Vigilante' in custody accused of kidnapping, beating man who 'stole Commodore' | News.com.au
Awesome. Who wouldnt want to beat up someone that stole their car.AN alleged vigilante is in custody, accused of kidnapping and brutally beating up a thief who stole his car in New South Wales.
NSW Police claim the 27-year-old suspect tracked the alleged crook down after he stole a Holden Commodore from a smash repair shop in South Nowra, south of Sydney.
It's believed he and a friend took their "hostage" to a secluded patch of bushland where they punched, kicked and battered him with sticks after tying him to a tree.
The 22-year-old victim eventually managed to wriggle free and escape.
He was taken to hospital in the wake of the brutal revenge attack just after midday yesterday, where he was treated for serious facial injuries, abrasions, bruises and rope burns.
Police said he's due to have surgery on his injuries next week.
The suspect was arrested in the early hours today and is due in court charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault.
"It will be alleged the incident stemmed from the stealing of the 27-year-old’s Holden Commodore from a smash repair business in South Nowra by the 22-year-old man." a police spokesman said.
Officers are still hunting the suspect's accomplice.
Shouldn't be classed as the victim as far as i'm concerned....
i wonder if he could plead tempory loss of sanity when he come across the guy who stole his pride and joy. I know I would loose the plot and would not be able to control myself. Obviously the bushland wasnt secluded enough. I bet police never did much to try and catch the theif.

owned hahaha who wouldnt react oddly if they found their stolen car though....
I have found a new HERO!!!!!!!!!!!! Biggest mistake they did was to let the prick "wriggle free". Loctite him to the tree next time!
Good on him!![]()
Thats not right.
I would beat the shit out of the guy too. Im honestly surprised the cops stepped in. Sounds to me like justice was served. nothing to see here, carry on.
You always see those f..ed up stories about criminals sueing and stuff like that. (the classic is a criminal who sued for being trapped in a garage he broke into for a few days) I say, if you break the law like that, you shouldnt be able to rely on it (UP TO A POINT) when your on the other end of the shitstick.
Personally, kidnapping the guy was a bit much. a good beating would be acceptable retailatian, perhaps a little revenge theft or something. nothing major though.

Interesting how the 27 year old tracked the thief but cops with all their resources never can seem to catch car thieves. I wonder if the 22 year old will now get done for stealing the car or will they just let him go cause he got bashed.
Yeah 2 guys beating the shit out of someone with a stick while tied up takes a really big man. Some guys should grow some balls.
The guys that agree with this sort of action need to be serious.. Its JUST a car, if the owner loves his car so much, then INSURE THE F***IN THING.. Sure losing your pride and joy sucks, but NO ONE deservse that sort of retaliation over a car..
i'm not tailgating, i'm keeping up with the pace car
It's not so much the fact that the dude stole 'just a car'. It's that he stole something that the owner had put a LOT of work into, a lot of time and effort goes into making a car 'yours', and it's something others should have respect for. The sort of person who steals a person's pride and joy, is the sort of person who mistreats everybody. They are a drain on society. Sucks to be them when they finally get what they deserve.
People do pretty stupid things no doubt, both sides screwd the pooch tho, if he was smart enough to track his car down he shoulda been smart enough to call the cops and report it.. The beating an kidnapping was clearly for his own sick satisfaction and revenge.. Sure the guy that stole the car was a f***head, but the guys that carried out what most would describe as torture, well lets just say Thier worse

Cops wouldn't do anything. They never do. There doesn't just have to be proof of a crime to make them investigate, the culprit has to be thrown on their doorstep or they're not interested.
You reckon the guy will steal another car after this? Chances are, he won't. So the beating will have done it's job. It's not a punishment, it's a lesson. If he does continue to be a drain on society ndd a waste of oxygen in general, well then, he deserves the same again until he learns.
Yeah because cops do a lot to track down a stolen car. Sigh. I wouldve done the exact same thing. I love my car, just because its insured doesnt take the sting out of loosing something you love, something that makes you smile. They took that away from me, so im going to take it away from them.
Can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
And for the people who say 'insure it', my car is insured for about $10,000 for a VX V6 Berlina. Well I can bloody well tell you that this wouldn't cover half the stuff on/in the car. Stereo, mags, full new suspension with all new bushes, rebuilt engine cost $5000 alone, etc etc. And I have tried agreed value but I wasn't allowed too.
