I received an email from youtube yesterday saying that i may be eligable to join their revenue sharing scheme. Has anyone here had any experience with this? They said that one of my videos has been a huge hit with over 15000 views and they would like to use it for advertising purposes globally. They say i will recieve a percentage of the money earned from the ads. I took the video at a drift meeting at Mallala SA years ago and it is of Danny Smith doing a demonstration burnout in his C10 Chevy Pickup. He sent me a message thanking me for putting it on youtube because he said he had lost his copy.
What i would like to know is can i get in any sort of trouble for putting a video of a public event on youtube and will other people want a share of any money i could make out of it. There were no laws about filming public events when i took the video and posted it on youtube but i think there are now.
I dont want to get sued out of this.

Users "modifiedcarforums" & "blownhemi" have videos from various events and I do believe one is made a YouTube partner. If it's your own footage I can't see a problem and I know that some make some really good coin out of it. FAB boasts about 2.5K a month and says he knows of one other making up to 9K a month. What's your channel name?
