    Default Headlight Bulbs...

    Hey everyone,

Im just curious as to if everyone has a favorite or preferred headlight for brightness, quality, life span, price etc...
i know there are plenty of well trusted names and brands out there.
I remember a few years back dad had a set in his old falcon that were really bright, looked a little blue too. they were a great set, i just cant remember brand or price.
i don't want to go HID, i just want a set of good quality, high visibility bulbs.

    thanks!

I've just gone and bought the Super Cheap Auto branded "Calibre" 'xenon' type of headlight bulbs, about $35 for the pair, MUCH brighter and better on the road..

Soon as I read the title I thought immediately of the headlight fluid joke.

    +1 I love them!

I actually went the Phillips blue vision not long ago; sure they were a bright nice clean light but it's very difficult to justify the extra $35bux over the Supercheap "Caliber" brand.
I also had one Phillips bulb blow after only a month and a bit of use (for not apparent reason)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I probably would have gone the Phillips cristal vision over the Calibre's, but I was flicking thru the SCA catalogue a few weeks ago, noticed they were on special.. Beats the yellow light emitted from the stgandard bulb. I'll soon be going the WHITE parkers too, rather than that yellow shitty appearance

I also bought the expensive narva ones from repco, like 80 frikking dollars and never again, the super cheap calibre ones are half the price and are more or less the same quality IMO

See, despite what you hear a lot of on these type of Forums, I actually buy a lot of my car related gear from Supercheap Auto - It's the first place I go to for car related.. Whether it be servicing (oils/filters) or tools, or accessories/spare parts. They actually have some quality stuff there, and if you can see past some of the employees (I've encountered a couple at my local SCA that arent' too bright) they have good service and cheaper than usual prices
