Yes mate there are idiots every where, glad you were not hurt.
they should have a concerntration span test when ya go for ya license.amazes me at how some retards get there licenses
keep your eyes open allways , this type of crap can happen any day of the week anywhere at anytime on the roads.
Go drive a truck and you'll realise that 90% of motorists are retarded.
Dont need to be a truck driver to realise that 90+% of drivers are morons.
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac? - George Carlin
As much as I hate to say it, I'm not surprised. It was raining around the Bundy area today, despite that I still see people doing 20+ km/h over the limit, overtaking when another vehicle's approaching, etc. Things I (and most people with half a brain) wouldn't do even in perfect conditions.
Had a very similar experience on my L's. Was driving home on the bass hwy, straight section of road, 2 trucks and some cars behind on the other side of the road. When this idiot starts overtaking one truck, sees us approaching, but instead of going back to his own lane between the trucks (there was heaps of room) he speeds up and tries to pass the other truck. At which point I am next to that truck, so I have to slow down as much as possible on the shoulder without hitting those reflector things, and he goes past between us and the truck, nearly lost the side mirror, at a combined speed of over 220kmh ( I was doing around 70 at that point).
Needless to say I was a little shaken up for a while after, but still didn't deter me from driving.
this is something i've never been able to understand with truck drivers
they claim they need so much stopping distance and get upset when someone gets into the lane in front of them but when they sit behind you on a highway at 100 km/h they seem to consider 2 metres stopping distance to be quite sufficient
I dont like truck drivers full stop. Too many of them think that they can do anything on the roads simply because no-one wants to be run over by them. Too many think that since they have their indicator on, they have right of way. Too many think that because they want to do something they can, in spite of the law saying otherwise.
For the truck drivers - The roads are not your playground, they are everyones transport corrideor.
As for the retards who drive like idiots and get away with it. I hope you try to dodge an oncoming brick wall and die in a fire without harming anyone else. You are so prepared to risk your own life with shit driving, but you don't recognise that you are likely to take out the innocent as well.
I find it scary that when a truck slows down for red light behind you, swear they stop like 5cm away from your rear bumper!! when you look behind it looks like the truckies gonna start ramming u up the behind!! I always worry when a truck starts slowing behind me.
But also feel sorry for the truckies when idiots full infront of them and they have to slam on the brakes, all that force it has to slow down - could just see them not being able to stop and go straight into the back of someone and push them meters ahead onto incoming traffic etc.

I find it more annoying when they stop at traffic lights, then start moving forwards again, until they are right on your bumper, can't stop looking at them.
I have seen some short amber lights from around 70kms, and the truckey has no hope of stopping so they go straight through on the red. To everyone who pulls in front of trucks at traffic lights, take note, you could be that little spec on the grill.
thread title misleading. should read 'I didn't have what could have been a fatal head on ......' since you actually had no such accident.
glad everyone's ok. nothing like a near miss to get the adrenaline pumping.
