Oran Park Raceway - "Now and Then"

Found this which I thought was pretty, err, well sad!

I drove past the track about a month ago and was so close to driving in for a look, but I decided not too. My last memory of Oran Park was the JCCC NSW track day, which ended up being run exactly one year before it officially closed. I figured if I went in now, instead of my last memories of the track being our cars belting round one hot January day, and sharing a beer in pit lane after packing up, my last memories of the track would be, well, standing around a site that looks something like what's in those photos!

But after spending a lifetime travelling to Narellan and Campbelltown and always seeing the grandstand at the last corner (which has history for me in itself, I still remember paying $100 for a grandstand ticket so I'd be covered in case it rained, just to sit there in 2 jumpers and a jacket and still have the icy winds cut through me instead), it looks weird seeing nothing there now.

Anyway thought I'd share some photos of what was once an awesome track.

i love looking at before and after pictures of things so they were great but at the same time its pretty sad to see the track now

So instead of V8s and go-karts, it now caters for rally cars. LOL

Its sad, but i think id still be having alot of fun taking my car around it now
