thought this would make an interesting topic, lets say from the traffic lights you absolutely gun it at your cars maxium acceleration capability without wheelspin , chirping or and loss of control with no one infront of you.... would this constitute hooning or dangerous driving ... keeping in mind you dont actually exceed 60kph.
ofcourse if its a drag to 60 i assume you could be done for drag racing or something , i would like to hear peoples opinions and if anyone knows , the legalitys of it?
cheers![]()
but what laws is it breaking ? no tyre chirps /spins , no other cars around , no breaking of speed limit ....... just a quick squirt too 60.
dragging somone to 60 i can see the problem.
i am heaps keen to find out a straight answer for this too.
i have never heard about a law about how hard and radical you can accelerate.
if you don't exceed the speed limit i don't see a problem?
although at the end of the day it will still be reckless driving, it is unsafe...
I think they call that a 'display of acceleration' or something like that which is an offence at least in Vic IIRC.
Whoever said 'There is no substitute for cubes' had obviously never heard of Jet power
i personnally cant see any problem with it, but unfortunately the wording of the hoon legislation leaves a massive gap and can be classed as hooning.
meh, i do this all the time. Never been hassled for it.

what if your merging from like a 60 zone onto a 100 freeway zone?
if you just drop it down a gear and slam it to 100 is that deemed the same from a quick take off?
Mate, if you fart while sitting at a set of lights they could get you for something. In Vic, police are over powered criminals really.

It is known as time trialling under the anti hoon legislation.
then they would be at fault for not braking
Chev badges are an instant fail

only cars i can think of in which you could do that in would be boring anyway
