    Default iPhone app

Hey guys found this cool app today, it allows you to listen to police and emergency services radio channels from around the world. pretty interesting stuff especially when listening to the LAPD or NYPD. My main problem with it however, is the legality of it. Can anyone tell me whether or not it is legal to have this application, or use it?

As long as they aren't decrypting encryption transmissions its perfectly legal. Same as listening to the scanner before police in aus went encrypted

Perfectly legal on open channels, I thought here they still weren't encrypted, not a few years ago anyway.

I think you are pretty safe from the LAPD or NYPD.

    umm yeh its legal.

I have a radio scanner on as I type this ... its honing in on Ambo's, Fire Brigade and police on non digital encrypted channels, so something from the US isn't a problem

My dad used to sit out in his shed and listen to it all night. It was quite a laugh when I heard a report of a guy i went to school with drugged up and smashing windows at the local shops.
