    these things happen unfortunately.

What I will suggest is you talk to someone in the real world tho, otherwise you might start to suffer shock and that's not good! You need to get it out of your system.

Its not a nice scene to see, I know from experience as well. Just find someone and start chatting!!

    Holy Crap mate,
That's the last thing you would have been expecting!!
As said above, you need to talk about it, get it all out your system..DO NOT Bottle it up mate.....
Try and find someone that has experienced a similar thing and talk to them as you will know they understand how you are feeling right now..

Take care buddy, and good Luck

i suggest talking to someone about it. not necessarily someone with a degree. just because they are qualified doesn't mean they understand the situation; oh and minux, everyone handles it different. i think id handle it alright, but i don't know because i haven't been there.

i dunno if id be able to pick up someones brains though.

I was first on scene at a fatal accident (involved 2 cars ahead of me) and I get what you feeling. It was a really yuck feeling, felt off for a while, though it was a little different. I actually touched this fella checking for a pulse and for days my fingers felt weird. I couldn't get it out of my head for ages this young fella was around the same age as a couple of my brothers and had a similiar look just kept thinking it could have been one of them. we had to stick around and do police report etc. and one of the ambos came over and asked if I was okay, suggested I talk to someone about it, said that they deal with this sort of thing everyday and it still gets to the best of them. Its not something i think about these days this happened maybe 6-7 years ago but everytime we go along that road and I see the roadside memorial I remember this young dead fella. That said if it was just some dead dude I drove past and didn't see the accident or have any involvement I think it would be a bit different emotion.

Haha! I was thinking the same thing. Saw someone jump off a multi story car park in Melbourne recently... Funny shit! AMAZING how quick emergency services scrape up the remains and clean everything up. About 20 minutes later you wouldn't have noticed anything excepty water from where the firies hosed down the footpath.

Seen plenty of dead people in the middile east - it's no big deal. They're the ones you like - they can't hurt you any more!

everyone deals with greif in a different way, we arnt all as cool and hip as a few members here, while death is a common thing, it's still not something nice to see. and for some of us, it can have a adverse affect on us. if it has affected u i would strongly sugest you seek some attention, talk to family and see what they can sugest.

ive seen my fair share of accidents, being a volunteer firefighter i attend car accidents and we are usually first on scene, its not something i paticularly like to do but someone has to. ive found that ive become a bit desensitized to it, still get the horrible feeling when you get the call to go to a car accident, never know who it could be.

When you have seen what some of us seen, you could understand why...I see people talking about how horrific it is to attend an accident where a child is dead. Try attending something that has 100 children dead. A clean dead body on the road, i'd have that any day of the week. For me, death means nothing, my last mate whose funeral I attended I didnt even shed a tear. Wasnt hurt. Shit happens.

garth, As for you saying you aren't as cool and hip as other members garth, easy to say when all you ever did was play on boats, wouldn't life be so sweet if thats all any soldier had to do? lol.

Obviously the OP isnt a "soldier" and hasnt been unlucky enough to surround himself with dead babies in his lifetime. His thread isnt to hear from self proclaimed "machines", but to maybe find ways to deal with what he has seen.
Why do you think he feels like shit?

    Because he is soft?

Only reason that comes to mind.

Yeh, that's you....Wasn't 100% referring to you not caring about seeing a dead body, but you don't even have a heart for the OP! I mean, yeh, you've seen heaps of dead bodies, but for someone to see what he saw for the first time, it would be a bit hard to take/deal with

You would have been fantastic as the Terminator

    He's soft?? Are you drunk?

Do you feel the same about rape? seen much of that?

Disturbing that anyone would be that over sensitised to something to actually put shit on someone that is struggling with something that he has seen

How the hell is rape comparable with a dead body? What the hell is the matter with you?

Erm, how is witnessing a rape even the same as seeing a dead body? I am really looking forward to seeing this answer. It should be as intelligent as your comparison no doubt.
