Another Double Demerits Weekend
Hey guys,
As a Red P plater, if I speed I loose double points and thus my license.
So how does it feel to be treated as a 18 year old again? :P
Watch for police out and about this weekend guys, watch your speed, you don't want to loose your points/license for the sake of getting somewhere 5 mins quicker.
Drive safe and have a good weekend

I am 18, but you guys who have far more experience and skill seem to get treated like kids (such as myself) every long weekend. I was simply pointing out the injustice of it.

I am a bit older than 18 or 22 but I have not been booked for anything in more than 20 years. Why not? don't speed, don't drink drive, watch hoons shoot past me and smile at them at the next set of lights or police radar or booze bus. My 30 year old son is always paying fines. Simply does not learn. I have held a HR license for 30 years and do not understand people who are always in a hurry to get there a few minutes early. No speed, No worries. You want to get there early, leave early. Simple

Especially at the bottom of hills, i've seen speed traps heading down and towards the bottom of hills, can't even gain momentum to reduce fuel used to climb next hill........darn it.

Sorry that was what I mean't. Because we loose what is it 4 points for <10 (ignoring higher) and with only 4 points on the license, it is suspended?
It is easy fixed though, don't drive like a mad man. I haven't yet lost my license or had a prang (6 months on my P's), I am the only one in the group of people I went to school with with that record, and I drive 500km+ a week. I also don't drink... wow I am cool :P

This kinda thing makes me laugh a little.. I may be fully licensed and whatnot, but thats irregardless. I was talking with mates - It doesn't matter what weekend it was, we still all took our cars out this weekend, and cruised around, even in some 'hotspot' areas. If you don't drive cause the heat is supposedly on, have you got something to hide, are you worried about something? Hell this weekend I went thru a booze bus and got a compliment rather than a defect!

Exactly - I actually spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel this weekend, saw a few cops out too and didn't get pulled up once. Don't speed, don't drink drive, don't do anything dangerous or stupid, or anything that draws attention to yourself, and you won't have a problem. Simple as that.
How hard can it be?
The police presence was limited where I live (there's one cop station with 1 officer within about 30km) so I saw a Radar on Friday night and some around Penrith but that was it. I drove 300km all up (soccer games) and didn't have any troubles. It was actually a good weekend to be on the roads, because no bugger was out.

probably drove 500 ks this weekend didnt have an issue saw 2 camera cars. even after leaving a local motorsport event i did not see and police. they were at the event though.
