    Default turbo 250cc motorbike

ive had a ct20turbo lying around for a while, and i recently got a atomik 250cc dirt bike for free, i want to turbo charge it, even if its 3-4 psi, i know i have to have the carby before the turbo, or fuel wont get it when it hits boost, but where can i get oil feeds on a motie engine? where can i get fitting made in the dandenong area?

i will post pics ect tomorow of the turbo and the bike

I have never worked on an Atomic bike but some 4 Stroke bikes have an oil supply pipe going up to the camshaft that is bolted on the outside of the engine. There is normally a banjo bolt each end holding it on. You might be able to modify the pipe by welding a fitting onto it for oil supply to the turbo. You could probably run the oil return through the crankcase breather hole. You might need to run a restrictor in the oil supply pipe so it doesnt run the camshaft dry.

this turbo is also water cooled, seeing its going to be on a MUCH smaller engine, will i need to cool it? and will it create any suffiecient boost?

if i mount the carby infront of the turbo, will i have problems with throttle response? its okay if its like a millisecond, but i dont want it to bog and almost die then scream onto boost,.....wont be exactly predictable or safe lmao

can u modify it to work in a blow through setup?
Sucking petrol and oxygen through a turbo spinning at something approaching 250000rpm isn't a smart idea... Particularly if its between your legs.

You could probably use a trans cooler to cool the turbo. make sure the cooler is higher than the turbo so the heat travels up to it. I think you will have a fair bit of turbo lag because there wont be enough exhaust flow to get it spinning until you get a few revs up. The carby probably wont work with a blow through setup and even with a draw through you will at least need a bigger main jet to go with the extra air you are forcing in to the motor. It might take a bit of setting up but should be good fun.

blow through is after the turbos sucked the air in am i correct? i was thinking that wont work as the boost will push the gravity fed petrol straght back up, and hopefully the turbo wont get that hot to light the fuel if i put the carby before the turbo?? as its running on a 250cc, not a 2500cc lol, it was on a toyota hilux and it came on boost at around 1500, it whistled on idle, so it should come on boost atleast 3/4 up the rev range, if not, awsome bragging rights

the fuel problems are going to be delt with later, if i run oil from the motor, through a cooler, then to the turbo, then back to the motor, is that sufficient cooling for it?

What psi would be safe, and what will it spool to.............i'm doubtful you will get it to make boost or spool at all, in the first few gears anyway. Top gear at full speed may see some, maybe.

ive changed my mind, im putting the motor in my go kart frame, ill get the motor in N/A then iron out problems, then get the snail to fit,

and it should see a gain, cant really go backwards with a turbo...., even if its in the higher gears, its still an improvement so yeah

ct20... hrmm, it'd be too big.

look for a pulsar N12? 1.3L they had a tiny turbo on them that may suit, its all relative. 250cc isn't much displacement you wont spool a car turbo.

Yes, many turbo's, run the same setup. might pay to run a small oil cooler.

honestly i wouldnt do it too much time and effort for it and with such a small capacity engine you will the engine will lag and not run like you think it would it has been done before and ya can buy "minibike turbo kits"on ebay for like 50bucks ive seen it done before and the results were horrible but it is possible on bigger bikes like with hayabusa's and shit

I think you'll find they're fuel injected though.
