transfering rego NSW to VIC

Im looking at buying a vehicle from NSW with NSW rego and rwc, can i use a NSW rwc in vic? can i transfer remaining nsw rego to vic rego?

you need to get a vic rwc and then book an appointment with vic roads and they cancel whatever is left of the nsw rego and re-register it as vic

ok thanks, so the NSW rwc is no use to me.. was hoping vic roads would accept it.

It's a shame they don't, due to Vic only needing a roadie when the car is unregistered basically, unlike NSW who needs one each year to keep the car registered.

yeah, ive always stuck to buying vehicles from my home state, but this one is to good to turn down! So ive never had to deal with interstate rego.
