Heard on the radio that VicPol will be cracking down on people driving with their fog lights on, what do people think about this?

No need to have them on during the day, so doesn't particularly bother me.

lmao this is going to turn into a shitfight :P

They have bee cracking down on them for ages, last 2 years probably?

I personally dont give a shit, people that piss me off are the one's that only have one headlight working, drive around with highbeams, or shitty aimed headlights :P foggies are fine when pointed where they are supposed to be.

Why dont they "crackdown" on something useful. Like corruption or the million unroadworthy cars getting around the place.

Sounds like another annoying revenue raiser, like QLD fining swear words in public. What a joke.

I see quite a few people who have spotties that are brighter than their headlights, its very annoying and makes it harder for me to see. Just the other day I had some wanker with spotties that were so bright that I couldn't see shit.

i think there should be a crackdown on these threads that pop up every 6 months about foglights in the city they dont bother me, when im country driving there really dazzling when oncoming as its so dark. what really bugs me is rear foglights! they are annoyong for the fact that its so much harder to see someone braking.

Few weeks back a cop here spent about an hour cracking down on them while I was at work (at night)....had 3 customers come in complaining that they just got fined for having their driving lights on. When a cop come in I hit him up bout it, and he rekons he fined about 10 people.

Lights on cars in general have been getting brighter over the years, foggies on at night can give off quite a bit of glare, I notice it particularly when I'm riding the bike when someone is driving towards you with headlights on and foggies, it makes the road ahead harder to see, especially when you're going through a corner trying to keep an eye on the road surface.

They don't give you any greater visibility (in normal conditions) over regular headlights, so please keep them off at night. During the day I couldn't really care less, and in some case advocate them to improve the visibility of your car to others.

And that was with my old faded headlights, my new headlights are actually brighter than then driving lights. i just like the driving lights cause they light up the space directly infront of the car and i can clearly see anything just infront of me.

The thing is thought, headlights are much more directional, even though they may be brighter, they aren't casting as much light into the eyes of oncoming drivers.

    you are not seeing things.

Danja, fair enough, but i have them angled downwards, and they sit that low in the bar anyway so the only way its gonna get them in the eye is if they are lying on the road, or im getting serious air time.

It's just a shame that anything oncoming struggles to see anything in front of them. I hate fog lights/driving lights - 90% of the time I'm dazzled by these stupid things on country highways. I've came up against a few new VE's and Audi's with the LED driving lights and they're no where near as annoying.

Maybe people are getting back at you for being "dazzled" by your hids.
