lol c'mon guys its not school time, so you think im no chance to drive it legally?
and im in vic
2 years ago mate, just under?
any ideas?
Had to follow up and do your spelling. Couldn't resist
Also, its alloytec not alloy tec. And its wrote, not rote. You missed a few
Im not going to make a habit of fixing spelling or grammar though. This is Just Commodores and alot of people on here certainly didn't pass spelling or grammar in year 2.
In response to the original poster, I can't understand why the insurance company will not pay you out the insured amount. Unless you had the car under insured or unless you are not revealing all the details to us?
And there is no way around the 'P' plate laws. They are not likely to make an exception for you.
what about if i do this, drive around in it with a big for sale sighn so if a cop pulls me over ill say im selling it??
You'll still get fined,
I'm pretty sure (heard it from someone that heard it from someone else...) that in NSW you can get exemptions to drive a vehicle thats on the 'no no list'.
Something along the lines of:
If its the only registered vehicle in your posession/household that you are able to drive, or
If you need it for work ie. Work ute with a V8 in it... etc.
But, thats only hearsay, and I wouldn't bet my life on it, best bet would be to ring up your local RTA, or VicRoads, or whatever it is that you guys have down there.![]()
***k why would i need a clubby for work?
Your errors and his errors and everyones errors jump off the screen at me all the time. But I am very particular and I passed all my spelling and grammar classes
To the original poster. You cannot get around the law. And if the car is still able to be driven safely, why was it written off? Or is it unsafe to be driven?
Swap a V6 into the clubby and you can drive it perfectly legally

No way dude, only way to do it is if you had bought the car prior to those rules coming in, which you didnt and there isnt a way you can make that happen.
Simple... MAKE THE INSURANCE PAY....
Lmao, insurance companies aint that bad are they?
I had problems with my licence... (courts fault) but got still got insured... licence hasnt been sorted out...
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
your obviously not giving the whole story/truth about the accident.
i work in insurance and have for years.
if you have an agreed value of the car they have to pay the full amount (if its a write off) end of story.
there is in know way any policy in the world that says in fine print "we reserve to pay you what we feel like because your a p plater and we hate you" which is what your OP was implying.
as for the stupid alligations and assumptions saying you can get away with driving a car that is to powerful. if you had got your P's a few years back when i did before the serious power to wieght restrictions came in you couldve got some higher preformance cars eg: xr6T and such but you havent had it that long as you stated.
the only way to get exemption to the rule is if your whole family only has one car that is shared and driven by all. a guy i use to live with he didnt have a car but he drove his dads porshce boxter every now and then because it was the ONLY registered car in his family to drive.
there is a way you can get an exxemption due to work related but as you stated the car you want is not needed for work.
You are well aware of the law why not just wait until you can drive one legally like any other p-plater.
get mum and daddy to get the car registered. go to the VICROADS or whatever and explain that its the family car and the only one you have access to. if you have been on P PLATES for two years, they should be green, or turned blue from the sun. check the power to weight ratio of the car, im pretty sure green platers can drive the BA XR6T due to power to weight.
