    Default re-attaching dash badges

    Hey all,

    hoping someone here can help.

Has anyone ever had to re-attach a badge to their dash (e.g the ones that say "SRS Airbag" or "HSV Enhanced" etc).

I know from factory their a thin 3M double sided tape of some description stuck to the backside of the badge, unpeel the backing paper and stick on. Just curious if anyone knows what the product is as we have a badge in one car thats come off and wont re-stick and I have a different badge that's been applied once that I want to stick to my dash.

I don't want to glue them on (well one is okay if it never comes off ever again, but not my one) as I want to peel it off when the time comes to sell the car as I've been waiting 5 years to get hold of one and will keep the dash badge long after the cars gone!!!!

I'm assuming SCA or Repco or someone sells them, just trying to do some research so I know what to be looking for!

    Cheers

Also hows the healing process going? Im itching for that track day, I want to test out my new konis now as well

Tesa sounds like what I'm after. I'll see what I can source, otherwise I might have to take ya up on that offer.

Healing's fine, don't know if its going fast or slow - all I keep getting told is "your recovering at your own pace which is all you can do"

Track day will be happening, but its been sidelined for the moment ;P

Head to K-mart or bunnings and you'll find a whole range of double sided tape in different thicknesses which will be perfect for what you want. The 3M brand is the best one to get.
If your planning on taking it off in the future I'd only use a small amount of tape on either end of the badge otherwise you may destroy it when removing it. Being on the inside of the car it won't need much tape at all to keep it stuck anyway.

thanks, I'm just thinking about it melting the glue when the interior gets hot on a summers day, but I may be overthinking it

Was your backing tape the thick black stuff like the outside badges have? That's what mine is looking like it has, haven't given it a go taking it off yet though...

well I took some advice from here and used some body moulding tape, cut to suit the shape of the badge, which seems to have done the trick. I suppose only time will tell.

Both badges had a dark grey tape on the back from factory
