i dont want to vote anymore

My last state election was recent. the overall choice was between a womanizing loser and a hapless liberal stuck in the past.

Both promised amazing things.. both lied about them. All this time down the track the winning party hasnt provided anything they promised and have yet put out more restrictive legislation towards p platers that the public was clearly against and they didnt tell anyone they were introducing it, they just did it.

I felt like I was throwing my vote away at that election, and in the upcoming federal election....

I honestly dont want to vote.

I dont want to be like all of those freaks who refuse to vote, or donkey vote, i still want to make a differance.... i just hate the path our country has taken, we have two main parties, ones evil the others stupid, they dont reflect anyones interests, and as shown by k-rudd recently, we dont even get a say in who' srunning the country, as soon as they piss off the real powers that run the country they get turfed.

Anyone else thought of a way we can fix our country up?.... voting aint going to help, and the fun part is, if I dont do it, I get fined, and the public consensus on doing a donkey vote is that you dont care about your country or about freedom.

Civil Revolution, but you know that would be hard cause they took all our guns away, but hey theres more of us than them but too many people content to sit in their homes with their creature comforts.

Just like the Family First vote BS, they will just trick you into voting for the opposition anyway, the whole system is rooted and their is no honesty, what can you do SFA but live with it.

If you truly hate both choices vote for a minor party or independent or hell go run for government yourself. Or if you truly don't care enough move overseas. I wish voting was not compulsory here at least then only people who actually care about how our country/states are run will be bothered to have their say.

The party in power have done nothing but run Australia into the ground. Their new IR laws are putting massive pressure on business and even sex offenders can keep their jobs under the new changes. Now tell me again, who is the evil party?

Well duh...you have not ever voted for a person, you vote for a party and its policies, or in Labors case, lack thereof.

You could always front on the day, get your name checked off the role and leave the ballot paper blank. That would avoid any fine.

LOL my mums b/friend every time there is an election he goes and gets his name ticked off and doesn't bother voting. Never takes the ballot from them either- funny as hell when you watch their reaction. He's never been fined before and he's done it for 20 years.

Well you can write letters and get in the face about what the government is doing wrong. Seriously, half the problem is that people are not vocal enough about their views and beliefs. I've written a few letters to my local MP (state) regarding a few issues, abortion, proposed P plate laws, current P Plate laws etc etc....
