hey everyone,
im 17 and prepared to leave school. my dad said he can organise me an electrical apprentiship with one of his various friends who own businesses. though every time he has asked, they have all replyed that id need to do a electrical prevoc course through tafe to understand basic knowledge. but this is the problem.. ive raided the net and asked as many people as i could and i still cannot find out any details about this course. if its classified as another course name, can somebody please inform me? i know its a short course but i cant find it! any help would be so greatly appreciated!
thanks, Aiden
I always thought it was just a crippled version of first year tafe. Really I wouldn't suggest taking on an electrical apprenticeship before doing at least one year of physics at school - It's not an easy course.
Best bet is to ring your local tafe and get the info from the horse mouth, they will be able to recommend the best option for you.
already tried and they wouldnt let me into physics at school pricks, not merely because of my grades, because they are reasonably good, but because the class was already too crowded. thanks public education haha
have you already done the course? im really not sure what too expect, everyone just keeps telling me how good my future will be after the course, which isnt much help at all.
yeh thats what ill do Ace_VP, i tried to get through today but the line was busy? ill be ringing first off tomorow
a lot of those pre voc courses are offered through schools, maybe hang around for another six months or so before dropping out to get the pre voc done?
if you do it through school they pay for some of it if you do it out of your own poclet its 2000 bucks i did the course its a 6 month course as long as you listen and ask questions you wont have a problem
