Darwin mums told to close their legs
A notorious NT restaurant owner is alleged to have told a group of mothers to "keep their legs closed" after one of them brought her 11-week-old baby to dinner.
According to the women, John Spellman, who owns the Tramontana restaurant in Darwin, launched a verbal attack on their group, accusing one of having "saggy tits" and another of having a "floppy c---", the Northern Territory News reports.
One of the women, named only as Katie, told the newspaper she had booked the table for her and her four friends at the Italian restaurant on Wednesday night and had checked to see if they could bring a pram.
"As we walked out, he yelled out 'you ladies better keep your legs together or you will end up like your friend'."
Spellman created worldwide headlines earlier this year when he announced he was going to charge customers who wore thongs $10 for lowering the tone of the establishment.
The controversial businessman has refused to comment to the newspaper on the incident but is alleged to have made several more off-colour remarks as the group left the restaurant.
Another woman who was at the dinner, Amy, said Spellman launched a tirade at the women when they objected to his comments.
"He went on about how he had two women in his establishment with babies, and he thought he was on his best behaviour, considering the other woman started breast feeding," she was quoted by the Northern Territory News as saying.
"When I called him a bastard, he said my friend had saggy tits. And I probably had a floppy 'c'. He actually used the word."What a wanker, but still funny!

What a ****wit, way over the top. If he doesn't want babies at his establishment he should just refuse them. Plenty of restaurants have banned kids thats all he needed to do rather than carry on like a proper twat.
