    Default trades overrated?

    does everyone think trades in australia are overrated in pay terms

    the average trady earns around 825 a week

    they get up at 6am

    everyone thinks they ear a stack of money but they don really

    Well unless you want to be an 'average tradie' I do not think so. Mosty tradies I know make a LOT more than that. Most if not all (with the exception of hairdressers) bring home well in excess of $100k a year.

    Being a fitter in the mines you can double that per week. Not to mention overtime. I dont think its over rated at all. Better than going to uni and earning $70k a year with a hex debt imo.

    i kno a fully qualified plumber he makes 27 an hour and i kno a chippy whos on 30 an hour

    My mate is a plumber, we wouldn't get out of bed for less that $1200 a week.

    There is definately money to be made in the trades, just got to be willing to work hard and work smart for it.

    My hubby is a printer, they make much more than twice the 'average wage' you stated, hell even their offsiders get more than $875 a week.

    ***k geeze do u think 18 years old is to late to start an appprenticeship 2 years agoo i was a laboroer for a plumber and i really enjoyed it

    I know 2nd year sparky apprentices that make more the 875 a week haha. im a 3rd year sparky and earn that with a little over time.

    Nah man, you should be able to find one, i know heaps of people that haven't started an apprenticeship till way into there 20's

    yeah car mechanic is a dead end job, unless you supplement your income with home jobs
    diesel fitters can do well though, especially if they work for the mines.

    im an apprentice cabinet maker so im slowly climbing the ranks. There is big money to be made out there if you do it the right way
