Tax returns?

Hey guy's,

Has anyone lodged their tax return for last year and received the money yet?

My partner lodged her return on the 6th July, and is still yet to receive the money. I only did mine today.

Has anyone experienced delays longer than usual this year, or still not to receive it? We've tried calling the ATO, but we only get a computer message saying please do not call again until the 5th of Aug...

Got mine a week ago? maybe earlier. Took exactly 10 working days to come through.

Lodged hubbys about 3 weeks ago using etax cash in the bank in 6 working days

Got mine within the week. My wife got hers a week later.

I just got my return back for being ####ed over in 08/09. The stupid ATO did the assessment and sent out the extortion letter on 10/7/2010 and gave me a due date to pay it of 10/6/2010. Dumb ####s - I'll work out if they are going to pay me or visa versa before I lodge this year. I pay them and it goes in on the very last day next year.

Did mine a few weeks ago and just got my return in my bank account on Friday.

Did mine online using etax.com.au, got my cash in about three days :-)

Actually got a fairly good return this year which is good!

An ariticle in today's paper suggests that the wait could be up to 30 days or more, if you receive any sort of Federal Government payment such as Centrelink, childcare etc. If your return is straightforward and you don't get any of those payments, your return should be reasonably quick.

Both my partner and myself received benefit payments at the start of the year, so that could very well have something to do with the delay.

Got my cousin whos a accountant to do it, signed the papers on friday so hopefully not too damn long.
But in saying that ive been on benefits the entire finacial year though

I lodged mine on the 12th, rang them and was told not to call them again until the 11th of August.... I'm getting Family tax benefit though, so I guess thats the delay as above.

Doesnt it depend how you lodged it? I sent mine thru the mail 3 weeks ago (couldnt use etax, first one I've lodged) and havent heard anything, but they say paper can take up to 7 weeks :S

Wish it'd hurry up though, the car needs money spending on it
