    Default being a postie.

just watched the postman put mail in the mailbox and thought, that would be a pretty good job. get to be a rebel, and ride your bike on the footpath, get to play in the rain, be awesome, apart from the random dog attacks. wonder how hard it would be to get into.

Don't want to hang shit on your idea but in my honest opinion I think it would be the worst job ever...ride around on a motor bike sorting through letters....no personal contact...getting wet etc etc etc....I think it would get monotonous and downright boring for little pay....

Want a high paying job, go be a train driver...not the suburban shit, the big freights that run interstate, i.e. melbourne to brisbane, or melbourne to perth...

or something local? be a Garbo or one of those people who hold the 'STOP' or 'SLOW' signs at roadworks...

Don't take any offence at me not supporting your idea, I just don't think it would be a good job

So long as you have your motorbike license (250cc) its farely easy I believe. Had a mate do it for a while, he loved it. He said the only down side was having to sort the mail out first thing in the morning.

You also can't be a fat mofo like me. 84kg or something is the limit cause the postie bikes can't handle much more.

As for those freight train drivers, I have ALWAYS wanted to get into that. People say it'd be boring but I disagree. Even on the same route over and over there'd always be something new to see. Out on your own too... I just have nfi how to get into it.

Cant be any heavier than 100kgs
I was a postie for about 6 months before i threw in the towel.
It is the worst job ever, its horrible. sorting mail, damn early starts, ppl abusing you is u ride on their lawn, dogs shit me alot, drivers are even more oblivious to you even though ur helmet is bright white and ur on a bright red bike. The weather conditions were a ####ing joke too.
If you are a tad strange then you will like it, but with me i t hought being on a bike all day would be cool fun, but u can hardly call a ct110 a bike. It almost made mewanna give up riding as it was just shithouse all day on a crappy red bike.

    Oh and shit pay :P

Our postie hates his job now especially in the summer, imagine riding around in 40+ deg temps with helmet on and now they have to wear thick long sleeved 'sunsafe' shirts.

riding a postie bike is just too much for some people clearly, like come on, a CT110 has a ferocious 4 stroke engine that would scare any sane person off the job, especially with its auto clutch.

Skidding is locking up your wheels while breaking and then sliding across the surface. That is a burnout.

    Someone needs to lrn2slang

Skids is a common name for burnouts, even if it isn't the correct terminology.

Lets go do some donuts.....no, wait, their food, not an illegal driving act....

Train driving goes off, It's an awesome paying job. Skillfull yes, high paying yes, shitty hours yes, strenuous NO.

Been driving coal trains for just under 2 years now, and you have another bloke (or blokette) with you. Least in NSW, I don't know if there is DOO (Driver Only Operation) elsewhere in Australia. DOO is used in some of the larger terminals in NSW.
