How long does it take for say 1 can of Jack Daniels to be fully out of my system? Because i dont want to drink and its not out of my system fully and drive, not worth loosing my licence (i rarely drink also). Thanks.

yeah when i drink i never drive but there was one instance where my aunty was rushed to hosipital (i had about 1 and a half cans, but i had to drive my nan to hospital since she doesnt know to how to drive). But yeah i usually wait 24hrs after i stop drinking to drive again just to be sure

How longs a piece of string?
This is a rhetorical question. It is different for everyone.
Say for someone who's about 6.1" tall and about 80kgs? Think an hour should do it?

1 Standard Drink approx an hour. Jack is like 1.5.
Yup. Australian (Nanny state) JD & Cola is the same strength as most beer (4.6%), 1.5 standard drinks. And most people don't realise that a "standard drink" (250ml) is usually always smaller than what you're drinking out of.
Go the German 10% version. Bought this at a service station (where you could also buy 1 litre tinnies!) on an Autobahn on the way from Belgium to Berlin.

The rate at which the body metabolises alcohol depends very heavily on the health of the individual, particularly the condition of your renal system (ie kidneys).
I was involved in two Breath Analysis training sessions for police a few years ago, where a number of males and females drank a measured amount of full strength beer within one hour. Our B/A levels were measured at quarter hour intervals after that hour. The results were graphed and compared. Some of the group were older and obviously not in the best of renal health and their metabolism rates were a lot slower, taking much longer to reduce their B/A levels. We were told by the police that a young, healthy male should be able to metabolise about 0.01 percent of alcohol per hour.
I wouldn't even try and guess how long it would take, too many factors.
Just spend a good amount on a high end breatho. It is the best investment you can make.

On site, the breathos go to 3 decimal places.
2 schooners with dinner the night before will register in the morning. It will be below 0.05, more like 0.002 as I have seen in plenty of cases.
But just dont risk it, not worth it IMO.

Can you actually buy Breathalyzer kits? How much are they and where can i get one? That would come in handy. But when i drink i generally leave my car at home or at a relatives if its close. Or i just give my keys to someone who not drinking.

the cheap: Alcohol Breath Tester - Jaycar Electronics
and the not-so-cheap: Fuel Cell Alcohol Tester - Jaycar Electronics
remember, neither will hold up in a court if you try saying "but i breath tested myself and i was fine". the reason the cops give you two readings is the same principle. hand held breath testers are not accurate enough to charge you, they need the big machine and a bit of time for the alcohol in your system to settle down.
There is one branded "Andra" or something like that for around $160 that is meant to be pretty good. You need to get it calibrated every so often though. I think Autobarn, repco etc sell them
I was taught by a professional to add up the number of standard drinks you have had, add one, then subtract the number of hours since you had your first drink to give you a ROUGH idea.
The formula for girls was different, but I think it was generally about double.

I was waiting for someone to pick up on that. They run a drink-drivers education course. Pretty sure she was a cop before that.
As everyone has said, it's just a guide. It will be different for everyone. I know for a fact it takes my body almost double the average time to get rid of alcohol. Thats what I get for enjoying my uni years a little too much...
