    Default grrr....car dealers..ADVICE PLEASE

Just letting of a little steam here...i wont name and shame as i think its a non0 from what ive read.
Im happy to say stay away from this dealer by pm tho !!

Ive never been a fan of caryard salesmen...and im proven right again
When i checked the vehicle over prior to purchace i found a list of things that need to be rectified.
It was written into the contract and i would pick it up when ready.
An hour after i get home i got a ph call saying the dent in the rear tailgate and paint protection would have to wait a week due to the backlog.
I wasnt happy but said im off for a week can i drop in in when i get back...no probs they said just ring first.
When i returned on thursday and phoned them they said yey bring it in.
Upon arriving they have now told me i need to wait another 2 weeks !!!!GRRRRRRRRRR

i made my point that when i rang on thursday and they said ye bring it in my car should be there priority over hail damaged cars that havnt been sold yet.
They claimed its not always possible...ye right

I made a point that prior to the purchace you said this would be done before i picked it up....whos to say in 2 weeks you wont do it again.
I left the car with them to fix the smaller things today but another trip in 2 weeks..pray they dont fob me off again !!
Its pretty obvious that customers are there no1 concern only untill they have parted with there cash.

I was told that if i leave it with them for 2 days they can fix the stereo screen as they had them in stock..
2 Days later i ring them and the workshop said...ye we had a look and have now ordered the parts...$^%$#@^&

Granted these arent big things but damn frustrating when they say 1 thing and then fail to do it.

jUST TO ADD TO THIS POST..3 WEEKS LATER
They didnt even get the finance paperwork correct
Just got a call from the finance company to say not 1 payment has gone it via direct deposit.
    damn useless !!!

What were you thinking when you signed up for paint protection? How much did the Ming Mole sting you?

Agreed - I actually once knew a guy with an AU Falcon, he got paint protection applied to it before he bought it - if anything it actually did more harm to the paint than good.

If possible, would've been better to wait and pick it up once it was all done. Once they have your cash they don't give 2 shits about you.

ah yes, the age old question "what comes first, the work or the cash"

same as any tradesman, business, service etc. never never pay till its all done and dusted. otherwise their motivation to complete your job drops to 0

WTF is paint protection anyway? What do they do to the paint? Pollish it? You can do that at home and probably do a better job because you care about the car.

Unless they want your return business to service the car they dont give two shits. Which is stupid because if they look after you then your next car may be purchased from them or you may let your friends know they are good to deal with. Good customer service isnt hard and should be a business' number one priority.

I was looking at buying a commodore ute when i finished UNI, ended up buying a 4wd instead, but i went to three or dealerships getting quotes. In the end I was just about to go to the one who gave me the 2nd most expensive quote because they were very helpful and easy to deal with. They didnt treat me like a lepper because i didnt walk in with a cheque there and then. The majority of them didnt take me seriously until they asked my what i did for a quid and I told them i was a teacher. Then once they realised I was in a positiont to afford it they would be nice to me. To many dealerships judge you when you first walk in. They size you up, decide whether or not you can afford the car and then ignore you if they dont think you can

If they haven't done the paint protection yet then cancel it. Don't waste your money. Look up a detailer and get the same done for a 1/4 of the price. Just keep hounding them about the dent. Also thrash loan car!

If you cancel the paint protection the Ming Mole will get on her rags and start kicking heads! You'd be surprised how much power the Ming Moles can wield.

Paint protection is a gimmick & a joke, the same as the optional mechanical warranty they shove down your throat
lesson one you have already admitted, dont buy off car dealers. I will admit i have bought from car dealers years ago when i knew nothing & regretted it. I have also bought from them on the odd occasion recently but i know what i am looking for now,i know how to deal with them but i still prefer to buy privately. The last car dealer i dealt with was because of a friend of mine. They bought a car from this dealer,i inspected it before hand & pointed out faults, asked them to fix them, they fixed them within the time frame i had given them. Also made sure the vehicle was registered, had a rwc & also new where the rwc was to be done. All good & above board so far, spoke to the mechanic about the car,no dramas at all. Mate pays for the car & off they go in their new used car. Then they show me the receipt later on after they have already paid for the cost of the vehicle. The car sales yard had added an extra 400 bucks on for the cost of rego(which was supposed to be included in the original price) I rang them up & happened to get the owner of the yard, ripped him a new bumhole was told they will call me back soon. Less 5 minutes later the salesman who sold the car rings up & apologises, blah blah etc,2 day later a checks recieved for400 bucks(cost of rego) Moral of the story, dont swallow what your told, know whats right then stand up & fight, dont budge once inch until you win.

I work as an apprentice mechanic at a dealership, our used car partnership across the road gives us all their cars to service and repair. Me being the apprentice they give me the annoying jobs. All I can say is, do not buy a used car. I had to re do a timing cover gasket/ sealant on a mazda 6 because it leaked oil. I was advised to clean the whole engine over extremely well afterwards making sure there was no mess. Little did the guy know that bought the Mazda 6 three days before that, that the car used about 4L of oil every 5,000km's The engine was purely rooted. The used car salesmen lacked to tell the customer about that slight issue.

Well its to late to get out of the contract..
Im due to pick it up this morning with no work done to it.
The best i can hope for is that they actually do the work in 2 weeks when i return it.

Ill be speaking to the dealer principle in the hope he can understand my frustration...doubt it will get me anywhere tho.

our local holden dealer has our deposit and we've taken the sale elsewhere due to their ineptness... paid on the spot 500 bucks from card and now weeks later, no deposit.. told the wife it will be signed off monday and sent out... also told her, they only post on a thursday and cant put it back on the card it came from.....

promptly told them that these are the types of things that loses them future sales.... monkeys !

went to a dealership today and its amazing comparing new cars section to used cars. in new cars we get treated kindly, given teas, coffees, even soup and cereal!! haha. but when we decided to walk outside to have a think about whether to make the plunge and buy a brand new car (which at the end of the day i did!) we walked through the used cars and saw two that i thought were genuine alternative to the new car we were mulling over.
After standing in the wind and rain trying to get a salesmans attention i eventually marched into the used cars section and asked the guy sitting at his desk if i could try out the 2 cars. i have never been treated so badly by a salesman (and to be fair, i have had nice treatment by used car salesmen too, but this one was very rude). he basically said "well which one are you gonna buy", a bit taken back (all my local salesman are very willing to help you try out cars adn find what suits u best), i told him i was looking at a new car but these were the other 2 that i was considering and wanted to try them out and then make up my mind. he basically said they dont just let people do test drives, and "let me put it this way, if you take out the honda, and it drives well, are you gonna buy it". the whole attitute and tone was very aggressive and i said, trying to hide ho his rudeness actually upset me more than angered me "never mind if its all too hard, dont worry about it" and walked out.

to be fair, about 10 minutes later he must have had a guilt or change of mind and did come outside and find me and ALMOST politely say he could organise a test drive (still pointing out the bother that it is on a saturday). even still, once he bought the keys out we again were kinda given the run around before being able to take teh car out. we didnt actually take out the honda we took out the calais and really liked it...but despite all its great features and relatively low kms, i deicded i wanted a new car. AND also just didnt sit right the idea of buying a car from someone who had obviously decided i either wasnt rich enough, or wasnt worth teh bother! either way, or whatever other reason he may have had, i was really quite upset. lukcily all the other dealers i have dealt with havebeen so lovely because if he was the first one id ever come into contact with, id never buy a car. atleast not from a dealer!

Because you simply cannot go around slandering a business in writing. There is always more than one side to a story and we have only heard yours. You really should remove all reference to this business from your post.
