    Default brake calliper bolts help

so my mate brought his barina over today so we could change the front rotors and pads but we came to a quick stop when we couldn't get the caliper bolts off

6mm Allen key to small, 8mm Allen key to big, 1/4" Allen key to small but only needs to be like 1mm bigger.

went down to the local tool shop but they don't haven any Allen key sets with a 7mm WTF... what size are these?

buggered if i know. but i will tell you what i always do if this happens to me-make my own allen key,its not that hard. what you do is get hold of a large bolt & a grinder. stick the bolt in a vice(have done it without a vice but be careful) then just grind the thread end of the bolt into a square, then grind the corners off the square. hey presto instant high tensile allen key

You may be looking at a Torx head as opposed to a Allen kee.

Have a good look at the hole and you may need to buy a socket / kee from Repco / supercheap etc.

had to go and buy a caliper socket, looks like an allen key mounted onto a socket and it was 6.5mm

apparently its made like this because they you gotta torque it

there is 6.5 hex tools and there are 7mm as well i should know as i have a 10,000 tool box

but to the calipers i think you might be undoing the wrong bolts it sound like you are undoing the hub bolts that hold the bearing and hub on

There should be 2 hex bolts around the back on sliding callipers.
