After spending 3 years saving up for my first car, i leave my car parked at the back of my work to find it with a key scratch.
Why would someone key a car? its complete bs, i dont have any hassles with people. i dont understand it..
For a scratch thats gone through clear coat to first layer of paint (1 metre) its pretty much left me not wanting to drive anymore.
Has your car ever been vandalized?
i no im complaining but i only saw it one hour ago..

my little sisters VN yesterday copped a good long scratchwasnt an intentional act of vandalism but someone has managed to scratch her front rim and right back til almost the passenger door
looks like they drove into the car park (she was reversed park into one) and have prob grazed their nose along for the metre-ish of damage. havent left a number or anything - i dont understand how ANYONE can cause that kinda damage to someone else's property...definitely not intentionally (like ur keying
) - but even accidentally i cant understand not leaving ur details. my sis is a uni student working 3PT jobs to put her through, and she was SO proud of those rims!
makes me scared to pick up my new VE next weekend! :S
lol your devastated over a key scratch?
Jees I hope no one you knows die, I would hate to see the results of your downward spiral.
Insurance, it is a wonderful thing to cover wankers out there who just do not give a ####.

yea i got insurance, full comprehensive. i saved up for that too.
It just annoys the #### out of me that someone would do that.

yea the title is a little over the top, im so annoyed with it.
What type of business does scratches like this?

You'd be best to get the affected panels resprayed. Since your car is relatively newish you won't have too much problem matching the paint to faded panels, etc.
Since it's a light colour it's also harder to tell it's been resprayed.
some arsehole broke into my VK damaging both doors by trying to force the cylinders out. looked at it, though "what a prick" then proceeded to shave the locks off.
boo hoo. its a car.
My Statesman looked like a golf ball after 12 months because shit eaters always hit it with their doors or trolleys.
I know the feeling, but unfortunetely unless you lock up your car in a garage and don't drive it, it's a fact of life.
There are scumbags out there and they damage other people stuff for fun.
I had a silver VX S coincidentally, saved up to pay cash for it and it was my pride and joy, I had someone hit my door so hard once in a carpark that the locking mechanism was pushing back out agains the door skin.... they didn't leave a note or nothing.
If you're that shattered about it, call out a dent master once a year to fix up all the little scratches and dents. I got my front bar, driver door, side skirt and wheel arch fixed and touched up for 450 odd i think.
Then I got work in the city, didn't want to leave it at Frankston Station every morning to get damaged so I sold it.
But yeah, this is a fact of life with daily drives and you're going to have to get used to it
Nevermind, these things happen and it's annoying but fix it and move on. You'll also be pleased to know that it won't be the last time it happens either.
my ute got done from the front guard to the taillight, it sucks but thats unfortunately part of bein on the aussie roads
Sad that this sort of thing happens - and yep I'd be mad to if I had saved my pennies for 3 years to buy a car only to get it scratched like that.
My brothers' black VE Calais has now got so many hits (like the golf ball post) that he is now thinking of selling it to stop the pain. (the car only has 26,000kms and is 3 years old)

I find it amusing that some people just can't acknowledge the FACT that there's 1000's of $'s to be saved/made just by the simple act of "good management" [ENOUGH TO COVER 100+ MERE SCRATCHES] where as, there's some that do happen to be quite good at it.
And i guess one has to feel sorry for someone with the mentality, where as to get their jollies, they're happy to make fun of them who do have the capabilities, averse to themselves who don't and probably never will.
To OP, mate, it's just a scratch, i get 'em all the time wondering about in the bush, in a few weeks you'll wonder what all the fuss was about! and because of the excess, no claims etc, you could be better off not claiming insurance anyway, but you'll work it out, or someone on here soon will for you maybe!!!
