Wink Doing a burnout in your driveway

I have done a massive burnout in my driveway (not the first time) i rather do it in my driveway as its my house (i own it) i am not harming anyone (well so i thought) and its my car, tyres etc. Anyway my old grump of a neighbour came out and said he was calling the police on me........ Can i get booked for doing a burnout in my driveway?

Even though its on private property, you still can - noise pollution, disturbing the peace, etc. Then there's also the issue that the cops might think that if you're doing it in your driveway, you might head out onto the road and do some more.

Be glad your not in QLD or you wouldn't have a car right now and be facing hefty charges.

they cannot book you on speculation but keep it under 130 db in the day time and you are free to burn away.. but if they see you do it they will try and slap safety regulations on you etc.

i also had a run in with a grumpy neighbour when i was adjusting the gain levels on my amp to run my subs in harmony with my music when old beryl(not really her name) from across the road came over and complained that "every single house in the street is vibrating" and that stuff was falling off her shelves. i apologised and finished my tuning in a secluded area.. when i told my father he said i should have told her to go get f'ed.. then move my car infront fo her house and do it.. haha although its funny i dont think it would have went down too well.

...pics or it didnt happen =P

Well the police have not showed up yet, i have put the car in the garage but all you can smell is rubber and i have tyre marks on my driveway so if they show i dont think i will get away with it but i am hoping its a Saturday night and they will be too busy to worry about me!

I wonder how long this thread will go on before some one calls OP a tool for doing a burnout any where but on a track. Yeah how about you don't listen to elmaso. This guy is a tool.

db is decibels it is used to determine sound pressure levels which converts into noise.
for e.g. 110 db is as loud as somebody shouting in your ear.
120 is a train horn (or the highest legal noise for a car horn.. gotta get me one)
    150 is a jet engine.

and where abouts in nsw ? if ur close and ur driveway is big enough we could get a third haha

I advise you don't do it again. Most of the time cops won't do anything after 1 report but will after 2 or more.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA might be a good idea ***** them! i know my car is not standard as it was worked when i bought it, but the first thing i did was upgrade my exhaust to my standards the grump hates it as when i start it in the morning the walls vibrate (but that is how i like it) Wait till i start it again i will rev it even more and god help him when its bathurst weekend!

You sound like a childish bogan. You did a burnout, big deal. I hope that when you are as old as the fella next door that you call "old grumpy" that you have a young d#*#head like you move in next door to your peaceful home and do burnouts in their driveway all day. That bloke has probably busted his arse for years to pay for that house. Then you come along, and you sound like a renter, and do stupid SH#t like that everyday. What a hero doing a burnout! Fair dinkum, read the stupid crap that you just posted and think about what a useless bogan you really are.

Have a read of what you just posted BOGAN. You stated that his house is full of tyre smoke. Do you really think that it is reasonable for some poor old bugger to just sit there in his home while ignorant ars##oles like you fill his house with tyre smoke?

I do own my house i have lived here for ten years and it is not as if i am out doing burnouts every day\weekend i do drive my car normal most of the time but on an odd occasion i do give her a bootful or do a burnout I am not saying what i do is right either and i will appoligise to him in a few days. If i was a young rev head i would understand on your comment and him being grumpy tonight but we all have some type of fun in our cars at one time or another.

I have been driving V8's for 28 years, and currently own 2 V8's, as well as my daily car. I enjoy the whole V8 thing, but I am not a stupid, ignorant, BOGAN like you who gives us a bad name. How would you feel if some arseh##le like you was giving your elderly parents shit like that? How do you think you would feel if your old dad was sitting at home, relaxing, and his BOGAN next door neighbour filled his house with tyre smoke?

i believe that she said in one of her previous posts that her dad would be there cheering her on so that last scenario of yours backfired. and i also believe houses have windows/dooes to keep this kind of stuff out of your house. you would close your house if the next door neighbour had a wood fire heater going and u got the smell of it (i wouldnt because personally i love the smell of burning wood) so do the same if a burnout is commencing next door once in a blue moon...

Yeah fair enough, I missed the bit about her dad cheering her on. That makes it OK then. I suppose as long as your dad cheers you on, it's quite OK to do your own thing with no regard for others. Houses don't have windows and doors to keep tyre smoke out. Don't know why you would compare wood fire smoke to some dick##ad burning rubber in the driveway beside some old blokes bedroom window.
