I would be all for plastic. Atleast if someone threw a plastic cup at you it wouldn't hurt. Some moron threw a beer bottle and it hit me on the forehead at a club in Perth. Lucky it didn't smash. I did nothing (I dont think it was aimed at me either). Think the guy was getting kicked out and threw it in anger and just happened to hit me. But that could have been a lot worse if it smashed.

Already happening up here. Bligh decided it was necessary to ban all glass from any pubs/clubs in brisbane (maybe the whole of QLD...? Not sure) that has had a glassing attack or 'excessive' violence on it's premises. They banned gllasses from a place around the block from our office; they had one glassing attack, 9 years ago. The place is a quite classy restaurant that just happens to have a bar as well, and they were told to drink out of plastic cups They fought it though and managed to get it reversed.

I just don't see the difference between a glass and a plastic cup. The amount of people that drop glasses on the dance floor and shards that fly around and the cleaner trying to sweep up the glass is so bad. At the end of the night all you stand on is glass and stupid girls take of their heels and step in glass 2. It'd be really hard to ban glass all around because people bring bottles (from home) to the outside the club and that's usually where the trouble starts..

I'm all for plastic cups. Working in crap pubs make you realise how many stupid people try to use glasses as weapons. The public only hear about it WHEN someone is seriously injured.

Heaps of glassings and attempted glassings happen every weekend. Major stadiums have banned glasses in most area's and it has made a difference (not only in your beer temperature)

My mate went to school with the above cow, she was appearantly a mole then and is a confirmed mole now.

I don't see a problem with plastic,if someone throws a plastic cup at you you'd be too busy laughing your arse off to do much about it. Clubs should definitely be forced to use plastic and since pubs are also restaurants they could introduce a certain time of night where they would switch to plastic.

It's gotten to the point where the amount of glassings is just getting ridiculous and something does need to be done. I know they bought out the responsible service of alcohol laws but seriously how many times do you see some tanked wanker still been given more booze?

Is it just me or do chicks seem to be getting worse with getting drunk and starting fights?
