    Hey Guys,
Im doing an assignment on the effects of dangerous driving, and will have a visual aid to it.
Does anyone have any good videos (or links to) burnouts/wannabe drifters/etc gone wrong?
I will be trowling the net but thought I'd see if anyone had any or know of any worth sharing.

    Bet you find heaps

    urban dictionary:

to drop a burnout without brakes, also called a powerskid. Act of smoking the tires on a car as long as possible without the application of brakles so it slowly rolls forward. to go further means that your car generally has a great deal more power as it can continually spin without grabbing traction.

ben dropped a massive skid down the front of ur house man

skid is commonly known as a 'burnout' hence why people say 'do a skid'

    skid (skd)
    n.
    1. To slide sideways while moving because of loss of traction

sounds like doing a skid (burnout) to me

Go on YouTube and do a search for the video footage of Richard Hammond's crash. Tyre blowout at roughly 500 km/h, it doesn't get much more dangerous than that.

A skid used to be when you locked up the brakes and slid or skidded down the road, however the word skid is now used to describe doing a burnout ie: rip a skid.

You also get skids in your pants when the cops pull you over.

that's the way most people would know it. Been reading around the forum a bit getting a feel for it and the guy that was correcting the word skid seems a bit simple or something always niggling at people.

Not quickly enough. You obviously haven't read the rules where it states trolling (try to bait someone into an arugment) and member abuse can earn you a ticket out of the door. This is an open forum where people are entitled to their opinions, if a person cannot deal with reading posts that disagree with them they need to stay off forums

Maybe you should quote a real dictionary! How many skid competitions are held? Plenty of burnout comps but haven't heard of a skid competition.

Skid - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

    2skid
    verb
    skid·dedskid·ding
    Definition of SKID
    transitive verb
    1
: to apply a brake or skid to : slow or halt by a skid
    2
a : to haul (as logs) by dragging <cutting and skidding firewood> b : to haul along, slide, hoist, or store on skids
    intransitive verb
    1
: to slide without rotating (as a wheel held from turning while a vehicle moves onward)
    2
a : to fail to grip the roadway; especially : to slip sideways on the road b of an airplane : to slide sideways away from the center of curvature when turning c : slide, slip
    3
: to fall rapidly, steeply, or far <sales skidded last year>
    Examples of SKID

    1. The truck skidded on the icy road.
    2. The car skidded off the road and into the gully.
    3. He slammed on the brakes, and the car skidded to a halt.
    4. I skidded on the ice and fell.

When you have been around a bit longer you will also see how he gets banned a fair bit. He is only back recently from a few months away from the forum. I don't dislike CSP as I understand his style of winding people up and watching them bite, and so many do time and again. Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay with us, just don't feed the trolls
