Villawood Dentention Centre protests

Has anyone wondered how the most recent (Chinese) protesters managed to get up onto the roof so soon after the previous group (Tamil & Iraqi)?

Do any of the Villawood staff actually supervise these people? Do they even try to stop further protests? The security is a joke!

Perhaps there's a set of steps to the roof with red carpet and a big sign that says "roof protest = media attention = visa" etc?

I agree it shouldn't take so bloody long to process these peoples' claims, but that said they shouldn't be allowed to hold the country to ransom with the left-wing media actively encouraging them. And if it's been decided to deport them, then get the hell out!

Just my 2¢ anyway, what do y'all think?

Only thing is some lawyer representing their family (notice how they always have family either with them or already here) is likely to sue the govt for a few million. They'd probably win too as all judges are left-wing bleeding hearts on huge salaries paying bugger all tax.

We had a protest not days ago and they go their own way and their refugee status is being looking at by the UN. 2 days later the this Chinese group have realised "Hey! If i climb on the roof and yell, I get what I want!". How the #### do they get on the roof?

Why then , do we allow a bunch of people threatening to jump off a roof/building/boat(et all) to dictate our policy and make demands on our government .

The crap these people pull absoloutely astounds me , if our country and ways are so damn horrible , go back to your war torn country and eat a bullet . Harsh ? maybe . Justified ? Absoloutely ....

Most Australian Citizens , are doing it tough at the moment , in the face of a global turn down in finances , work sustainability , and general living ... Yet these people are fed 3 times a day , are clothed , cared for medically and mentally if need be , have a roof over their heads , and when they do get to the outside world , are afforded every oppurtunity possible ... and yet they climb on the roof to claim how hard it is , and make demands against the threat of self harm .

I would give them a ticket back to which ever hell hole they came from , a bullet proof vest , a mars bar and wish em the best of luck .

Fair enough their are some genuine people who have no real alternative but Australia is making it to easy & even advertising the fact by sticking it on the news all the time that we have "special" facilities to help them,that we will bow down to them because of certain sanctions & legislations written by people who dont have to deal with the problem. These ones arrived legally. They just did not want to leave and because of this are being punished.

Sadly, i know of people being paid by chinese families to marry their daughters to get them over here. Rather pathetic.

I know of one that did jump.
I went to school with a Fijian kid. His uncle was caught up in this and jumped off the roof and they let him die once he hit the ground. From what i've heard he lay there for 5hrs.

I'm not sure of the circumstances surrounding him being there though.

It's bad enough we let the queue jumpers in, now you want them baby sat as well as fed and housed? The only security that is a joke is the border patrols that let them in.

They shouldn't be processed at all. We need to look after Australian citizens in need over these unwanted intruders. Use the money the Government throws to these people on reducing the waiting list for Australians who have health issues.
